Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Our Children. Our Legacy. Our Future.
Father I come to you today with a humble heart thanking you for the blessing of being a parent. I was fortunate to give birth to my children, yet there are many who are co-parenting, have adopted, are faithful Aunts, Uncles, grandparents and many titles that are too large to name. Today we intercede for the “Legacy builders”, and the future kingdom builders known to many as our children. Our children are our future. Help us to know what to do with the blessings that you have given us in your children. We recognize that they come to us from you, and we are only the overseers of the promises that you have already aligned for their lives. Let us be good stewards over the gifts that you have given us in our sons & daughters. Teach us how to be BOTH transparent and firm when it comes to discipline. Teach us how to forgive quickly and rebuke any repeat failures that we experienced in our own lives in and around their age. Teach us to speak the calling that our future leaders, educators, ministers, doctors and lawyers have on their lives. Help us to discern when we need to pull back the reigns of parental instructions, and help us to know when it is time to release them into the paths that you have designed uniquely for their call. Help us be better children towards you Father, so we can in-turn be better Mothers & Fathers to our children. Forgive us for any feelings that we still hold towards our own parents and help us to be free to hear your voice of instruction in the areas where we are still learning and growing. You Father know what we feel daily as you too are the Father of our wonderful son Jesus. Help us to change a generation, and not allow a standard to be diminished due to worldly pacifiers, and worldly opportunities that distract our children from the Godly calling that you created. Let us bet a better Family, Let us be a better generation, and let this generational shift and change begin with me. I ask this prayer in Jesus name, Amen!
