~Day 6~

Parenting, one of God’s greatest gifts!

Honor thy Father and thy Mother for thy days will be longer” Exodus 20:12.
Many of us in this life will have the privilege of being a parent or being the care-giver or adoptive parents to someone who is not able to take care of themselves. Parenting are times such as these where we as men and women can plant seeds of integrity, character and value in and through the lives of the next generation. Marriage between man and woman was created for the empowerment and the successful accomplishments of Family. Many in this world today, are participating in their own free-wills and permissive states of living, that result in the ideas, and values of family to be diminished. How is your marriage being used for God?

Marriage is God’s unique design and the initial teaching grounds for mothers and fathers. If you did not grow up in an environment that did not have great examples of godly parenting, surely we realize and recognize that our Heavenly Father is the only one who can allow us to be better parents. This gift whether by birth, adoption, care-giving or extended relatives is a gift. Are you as thankful for this gift as God was when He send His only son to die for you and me??? We mustn’t continue on in a pattern of pathology that causes those crucible things in our childhood to resurface in our parenting. Jealousy, abandonment, disappointments, we must repent and release all of these things to God in prayer so He can make us into the Mother and Father that He uniquely created us to be. Are you willing to allow God to show you how to parent your son or your daughter?? Remember, you have nurtured your child and now you must pray to ask God to show you how you need to listen and hear the needs of your future adult child. Only God can reveal this for you.
Many are called to live a life of parenting, and we are so grateful for the life that you both lead. Please don’t get us wrong, we are so thankful that our families are thriving and moving in the direction that God aligned and appointed us to see Him for guidance! We are in a place now, today where the Gift of Christ is more important now more than ever. Jesus can move in a way in the lives of your children and your own parenting like never before. Day 6 is a reflection of what the “gift” and the importance of parenting can be for you and your family. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” – (Proverbs 22:6)
Tonight, in addition to the regular hustle and bustle of your family lives, take a moment and thank God for choosing you to be a parent, whether you’re an Aunt, or Uncle, or Godparent, it all matters in the kingdom. Let not your heart ponder or worry about the details allow God to transform you into the leader and legacy builder He has committed you to be. Grab your family and sit down today, and reflect on all that God has blessed you with up until this moment. Allow God to come in to your home and transform you both as husband and wife, and as a faithful father and mother so that your children will see your character and integrity will be at the forefront of your Family legacy. This is not a time for Selfish actions or taking count of what matters, this is a time to check your motives and intentions. So grateful for your participation in the legacy of our next generation, and we are praying for your families always! Thankful to God that he is helping us all build our Marriages, our Families and our lives into His Kingdom purpose only He can create.  To God be the Glory!
